The 2015 City Lit Classics Day is entitled “Portraiture and the representation of the body in the Classical World.” Speakers are from the City Lit, University College London and the British Museum. Topics covered include “Appearances of the body in Roman literature”, “Physical representations of heroism and death in the Iliad”, “Greek images of beautification display constructiveness and deceit” as well as my talk
“The Depiction of Sport in Ancient Greece”
Each talk will be opened up to public discussion and there is a general plenary session at the end.
